Artificial Intelligence – Schools

Spark student interest in the Science and Technology of A.I. by hosting a cutting-edge STEM incursion at your school, just like Microsoft did when they hosted Neuranext at their Sydney Store.

Description

The Artificial Intelligence program introduces students to the key scientific concepts of Artificial Intelligence.

Students will:

  • learn about the A.I technology and how it works;
  • implement computer vision using Python Code and Jupyter Notebooks with data and images they create; and
  • workshop future applications of the A.I. technology and their impact on the world.

The program is taught exclusively by a qualified NSW teacher and is suitable for Primary and Secondary students – stages 2 to 4 and 5 to 6.

Learning goals

  • Understand what Artificial Intelligence is and also what it is not.
  • Learn about the technology and how it works.
  • Learn how the technology can be applied and the changes that it may make to our lives in the near future.
  • Implement A.I. for classifying our writing, to classify objects we
    photograph and to identify objects in photos we take today.
  • Brainstorm future applications for the technology and discuss your
    thoughts on the technology.

Facilitator Profile

Adrian Tyson is a fully qualified NSW teacher and co founder of Neuranext Artificial Intelligence.

Adrian has a passion for empowering students with knowledge about new and transformative technologies. As an experienced teacher, Adrian is able to effectively design the learning experience in a way that students engage with and can successfully participate in at the appropriate level.

Adrian has personally delivered this A.I. course to over 1000 students since March 2019.

Adrian is also a twice Cannes Film Festival selected screenwriter and director, St Kilda Film Festival selected Director, writer/director of 5 short films, a member of the AACTA (Australian Cinema and Television Arts) for screenwriting, directing and producing.

Neuranext is a NESA approved PD provider, a member of Amazon’s AWS Edstart, member of NVIDIA’s Inception program for Artificial Intelligence startups, first person in the world to be chosen to teach A.I. to students at Microsoft’s Flagship Store and chosen to teach A.I. by ANSTO (Australian Nuclear Sciences Technology Organsiation.
