From boats to bridges, this hands-on adventure explore transport in motion at beautiful Callan Park. Children will investigate how everyone moves through, around and over the park, exploring pathways, water crossings and the engineering behind different modes of transport.
- Discovery Walk: Wings, wheels or water? Children will head out on a guided walk to observe and record how things move around the park, spotting different modes of transport and the paths, roads, bridges and waterways that help them travel.
- Bridge Builders: Children will roll up their sleeves to design and build their own bridges using natural materials, experimenting with strength, balance, vibration and weight to see what makes a bridge strong and stable.
- Boat Makers: Working in small teams, children will design, build and test small boats made from natural and recycled materials, experimenting to see what floats, what sinks and how boats can carry weight across water.
A creative, hands-on exploration of movement, engineering and teamwork — discovering how we move through landscapes and how landscapes shape the way we travel.
