Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!

November 20, 2018

Throw another snag on the barbie and have a ripper of an arvo? That’s how most Aussies view Australia Day, but what does it really mean, and how do we get our kids to understand the importance and relevance of Australia Day?

We could sit all the kids down and start by saying that the 26th January marks the landing of the First Fleet, a convoy of 11 ships carrying convicts, at Port Jackson in 1788. … but let’s be honest they will either be bored within 10 minutes or they will completely forget by the time they get home.

Never fear, Fun Day Out is here with a bunch of fair dinkum activities that will entertain the kids and have them saying G’day all day.

Discover Australia - The name says it all. This incursion is a 90 minutes show filled with Aussie bush songs and anecdotes which will teach the kids the story of Captain Cook but in an engaging and interactive way.

James Craig is an excursion that is so relevant to Australian History. Climb aboard this magnificent 19th Century Tall Ship that has been beautifully restored and perfectly located in Sydney.

Perhaps the idea of scones and hand churred butter tickles your fancy. How about everything you need all in one box? Get Kids Cooking have got you covered with Cook in a Box. A budget friendly DIY type activity that is ridiculously easy and delicious.

What about a game of lawn bowls with the most iconic Sydney view at The Greens at North Sydney or visit the Australian Botanic Gardens and create your own Kangaroo burger. What about an Australia Day incursion with a cool collection of Aussie tones with Earthbeats.

Australia Day is all about celebrating this lucky country, enjoying the good weather, the culture diversity and basically having a good time; no matter what activity you choose if the kids are all together and having a good time, you have hit the nail on the head.

G’day from all of us at Fun Day Out, don’t be afraid to give us a call for a yarn and we can put together an Aussie program in no time.
