Indigenous Weaving and Art

Sydney & Surrounds

Kirra Court is from the Bundjalung Nation of the Tweed Region living in Sydney. She has a wealth of knowledge about Aboriginal culture, history and heritage from her family and community.

Learn about the different plants that Australia’s First Nations Peoples use to make string, rope, bags, and baskets.

Let Kirra share her inherited knowledge of First Nation’s skills in weaving, art and craft.

Get hands-on and try out some weaving skills to make your own bracelet! Or draw your own life journey in traditional indigenous symbols.
