This program will focus on Indigenous art classes which will be run by local indigenous community members.

Through these classes kids will be given a unique insight and understanding into Aboriginal Culture and identity. Certain skills such as dot painting will be practiced creating an art piece for children to take home.

Each session will have its own theme which will be depicted in the final piece. Before painting a brief history of the day’s theme will be discussed allowing children to understand exactly what it is they are painting. Themes will include the dreamtime, family, origin, connection and totems.

Kids will be engaged for 90 minutes by using colourful resources and having a final canvas piece to take home and share.
